ALCIVIA is pleased to announce that we will be offering $1,000 ALCIVIA Scholarships to a total of 25 area students. The scholarships will be awarded in two categories: 1. College Students: This is open to students attending an accredited four-year university or college, an accredited two-year technical school program or an accredited agricultural short course. 2. High School Seniors: This is open to high school seniors who will be attending one of the above listed higher education programs following high school graduation. 1) All active members for the 2023 fiscal year (9/1/2022 - 8/31/2023) of ALCIVIA and their children are eligible to receive an ALCIVIA Scholarship, including employees and directors. Grandchildren of members are not allowed to apply if their parents are not members/employees of the cooperative. 2) Applicants can only receive the scholarship once. 3) Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale during their previous educational year. 4) Applicants will be judged by the Cooperative Network Federated Youth Foundation, on leadership, scholastic achievement, extra-curricular activities, personal motivation, academic and life goals. 5) Preference will be given to students majoring in agriculture. 6) To be eligible, all areas of the scholarship application form must be filled out and submitted together. 7) Attach transcripts through your most recently completed semester and a copy of your Fall 2023 course schedule to your application. 8) Scholarship recipients will be notified via email listed on application by the end of February 2024. 9) All applications are due at the ALCIVIA office (1401 Landmark Dr, Cottage Grove) by January 31, 2024.
Each year, Eau Claire Energy Cooperative may award up to $10,000 in higher education scholarships to students of member families through the Federated Youth Foundation Scholarship Program. Sixteen $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students attending area high schools.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: A scholarship application form must be completed and returned to the high school counseling office on or before January 9 at 3:30 p.m. Do not submit the application to Eau Claire Energy Cooperative.
To qualify, the applying student must fit the following criteria:
- The student’s parent or guardian must be a member of Eau Claire Energy Cooperative and currently receive ECEC energy service at their residence.
- Display average or above-average academic records.
- Display potential to achieve success in a post-secondary public or private college, university, junior college or vocational school program.
- The scholarships should be awarded to qualifying students who would not otherwise receive scholarships from other sources.
- Apply on or before January 9.

All applications must be completed and returned to the high school, technical college, or university student office on or before January 9.

Students who participate in the American Legion Oratorical Contest have the chance to advance to a national level where they could potentially receive scholarships of up to $35,000. Contestants first participate at the local level and winners advance to the next level. Each level awards a monetary award, which may include gifts cards and cash or academic scholarships.

We are pleased to let you know that the Wisconsin Education Association Council is again offering a scholarship to eligible public high school seniors who are planning to enter the field of education. Winners of the scholarship will receive a grant of $1,450.00 per year for four years of study, provided they remain eligible. High school seniors who are planning to go into the field of education and whose parent(s) are a WEAC member, a WEAC retired member or who died while holding a WEAC membership are eligible to apply. Each year one of the four scholarships shall be designated the Kathy Mann Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship shall be awarded to a minority student. In the event that no minority student applies or meets the criteria, the Kathy Mann Scholarship shall not be awarded. In its place a regular WEAC Scholarship shall be awarded.

Allied Cooperative is proud to award numerous scholarships, each year, to full-time students pursuing post-secondary education. Applicants will be scored on their scholastic achievement, leadership, written essay questions and perceived ability to contribute to the future of their chosen career path. Preference is given to those pursuing a degree in Agriculture.

The AB Nicholas Scholarship is offered to students participating in boys or girls basketball. This year the AB Nicholas Scholarship Foundation will offer scholarships to approximately 100 Wisconsin public and private high school graduates based on need, academic achievement and character. The annual scholarships - $10,000 for four-year programs and $5,000 for two-year programs-are renewable for the length of the program.
The AB Nicholas Scholarship Foundation accepts applications from qualifying seniors each year between February 1 and April 30. Click this LINK for more information and an application starting February 1.
Description: Up to four recipients will be eligible to receive the Heartland Scholarship. Recipients will each receive $2,500 to put towards continuing education. Payment will be made directly to the institution the recipient is attending.
Who is eligible to apply: Graduating seniors from high schools local to HBS offices. Students must have a 3.5 minimum GPA and intend to continue education at an accredited two – or four- year university or technical school, with an intended major in an Information Technology field. Students will be required to submit a copy of their high school transcripts.

Co-op Credit Union is pleased to offer scholarships to graduating seniors throughout the region. As a cooperative, they believe in the power of not only supporting their communities and the people who live in them but also the value and importance of education. It is their honor to assist students as they plan their futures and work to achieve their goals.
The following is a list of requirements and procedural guidelines for selecting a recipient and the student receiving the funds:
- The student or the student’s parent or guardian must be an active Co-op Credit Union member for at least six months and be a member in good standing.
- The award is based on merit first (combination of academics, extra-curricular and community service), followed by need (if you are able to determine need).
- The student has not received other local scholarships totaling $1,000 or more.
- Co-op Credit Union employees, employee children and board children are as eligible as all other CCU members.
- Student has not missed any school or extra-curricular activities due to disciplinary action against the student by school or law enforcement authorities for the past year. Certain exceptions can be waived, but Co-op Credit Union wishes to be notified of such actions prior to award decision.

The Horatio Alger Association seeks to assist students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, a good academic record, commitment to pursue a college education, and a desire to contribute to society. The Horatio Alger Association scholarship programs provide financial assistance to students throughout the nation who have significant financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. The scholarships are given to deserving students each year and range in award value from $10,000 to $25,000, with more than 600 scholarships available.
Eligibility: To be considered eligible for Horatio Alger National and State Scholarship Programs, applicants must:
- Be enrolled full-time as a high school junior in the United States, progressing normally toward graduation in spring/summer 2025 with plans to enter a college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation.
- Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution).
- Demonstrate critical financial need ($65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required).
- Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities.
- Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity.
- Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0
- Be a United States citizen

The Fund for Rural America, Compeer Financial’s corporate giving program, is offering 123 scholarships to students this year. Graduating high school seniors with an agriculture or rural background, or those planning to major in an agriculture-related field at a community college, university or technical school are encouraged to apply between now and March 15.
Each scholarship recipient will receive $1,500 for educational tuition expenses. Qualified applicants must be graduating seniors residing in Compeer Financial’s 144-county territory with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Recipients will be selected based on a combination of academic achievement, agricultural, community and youth organization involvement, and essays.
Since 2018, the Fund has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to 710 graduating seniors. “Providing scholarships to students interested in agriculture or rural America is a way we can support the future of our industry,” said Karen Schieler, senior corporate giving specialist at Compeer Financial. “These students embody our mission of championing rural, and we look forward to their applications.”

Abuse as we all know has no boundaries. Abuse can be
drugs/alcohol, mental, or physical abuse, how dealt with, what you learned from it, and what was right or wrong (in your own opinion) and the way the incident or problem was handled.
To qualify to win a $500 Scholarship -
All you have to do is write an essay (600-800) words, double spaced, about a personal encounter you or someone you
know has had with abuse.
- You must currently be a high school senior
- Your school must be in: Iowa, Illinois, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin
- You must have a 2.5 GPA or higher
- You must have plans to attend college or plans for a training program, JATC, Military, etc.

The first-place winner of the Steve Pavich and Frank Pries Scholarship will receive $1,000 and advance to the national competition for the Farm Kids for College Scholarship. The Farm Kids for College Scholarship is awarding three scholarships for $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000 in 2024, honoring important leaders in National Farmers Organization history.

The WCA Group Health Trust (GHT) is once again proud to sponsor five scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each.
