Superintendent's Welcome

Dr. Ryan Nelson

My name is Reed Pecha, and I am the District Administrator for the Augusta Area School District. This is my second year in this role (seventh in the District), and I am very excited for the coming year as we have many great things going on in our classrooms and on our campus. We have a beautiful campus with new classrooms and technology to support our students and staff, a robotics lab, a brand new greenhouse, a college-level fitness center, a state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center that has hosted national acts, and the best students and staff that any District could ask for. There is so much to be excited about here at Augusta, and I feel very proud to serve in this role for such a great community.

As always, don't be afraid to reach out with questions or concerns. My values of Honesty, Integrity, and Accountability have served me well up to this point and will always be my True North. I value open communication and collaboration because nothing great is accomplished by any one person; it takes a community of dedicated people to come together for a common purpose, and Augusta is that community. We have great students, an excellent staff, and supportive parents and community members. The expectations we have as a district are as high as they have ever been, and we will continue to raise the bar. I cannot wait to see all we accomplish this coming school year.

Our Commitment to Quality Education: At Augusta Schools, our foremost mission is to provide a high-quality education. We take great pride in offering a wealth of opportunities for our students, even in our small school setting. We believe that every child deserves a chance to grow, learn, and excel, and we're dedicated to nurturing their talents and passions.

Student Growth and Excellence: One of our proudest achievements is the exceptional rate of student learning growth we have witnessed. Our students continually outshine expectations, and we're here to support them every step of the way. Our commitment to excellence is unwavering, and we're constantly striving for even greater heights.

Preparing Students to Thrive in the 21st Century: At Augusta Schools, we take immense pride in offering our students an array of educational opportunities that extend well beyond the classroom. Our robust K-12 academic and career planning framework equips our students with the tools and insights to make informed decisions about their future. For our elementary students, regular Lunch 'n Learns provide a unique chance to interact with real professionals across various career clusters, igniting their curiosity and broadening their horizons. In middle school, we open doors to the world of higher education by facilitating college tours, allowing our students to envision their path ahead. Moreover, our high school students have a variety of options to truly excel, as students can earn traditional high school credits, dual credits that transfer into the Wisconsin Technical and University systems, Industry Recognized Credentials, AP credits, Youth Apprenticeship opportunities, and college academies. We aim to empower our students to give them as many opportunities as possible so they can be successful, productive citizens when they graduate. We believe in nurturing the ambitions of our students and helping them shape their dreams into realities.

Dedicated and Exceptional Staff: Our team of educators and staff is truly exceptional. Their unwavering dedication to our students' success is inspiring. Their hard work, passion, and expertise make the Augusta Area School District a place where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. It is no wonder that well over 90% of our students consistently report having strong connections with our staff, fostering a supportive and nurturing educational environment. We are particularly humbled by the fact that numerous staff members have been nominated or have received regional and state-wide recognition for their talents and commitment to educating students.

Parent and Student Satisfaction: We are delighted to report consistently high satisfaction scores from both parents and students on our annual surveys. Your feedback guides our decisions, and we're committed to making sure that every member of our community feels heard and valued.

State-of-the-Art Facilities: As previously mentioned, our commitment to excellence extends to our facilities as well. We are proud to introduce our state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center, providing a platform for our students to showcase their artistic talents. Additionally, our new STEM lab is equipped with the latest technology in robotics and engineering, enabling our students to explore and innovate in these rapidly advancing fields. Moreover, we're proud to showcase our recently renovated athletic facilities, now some of the best around. These facilities provide our student-athletes with a top-notch environment to excel in their chosen sports and build strong, healthy bodies.

Aquatics Center: In our ongoing efforts to serve the broader community, we are also very proud of our Community Accessible Aquatics Center. This center is open to the public and provides a safe and inviting space for all ages to enjoy swimming and aquatic activities. It's a place where our community can come together to stay active and healthy.

Fitness Center: Complementing our aquatics center, we have also opened a new fitness center. Equipped with modern exercise equipment, it's designed to help our students and community members maintain their fitness and well-being goals.

Early Learning Center: Our brand-new, modern Early Learning Center is a testament to our dedication to nurturing young minds. It provides a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for our youngest learners, ensuring they receive the best possible start to their educational journey.

We are excited about the future of the Augusta Area School District and the incredible potential that lies ahead. Our commitment to quality education, continuous growth, and unwavering support for our students will continue to be at the heart of everything we do.

Thank you for being a part of our vibrant educational community. We invite you to explore our website, connect with our dedicated team, and join us in our mission to inspire, educate, and empower the leaders of tomorrow.

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve you in this role.

Reed Pecha
