The Augusta Youth Football Association runs a flag football program each fall. The program includes a 2nd grade team, 3rd and 4th grade teams and 5th and 6th grade teams. Teams will compete in the Fall Creek league with games being played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The league will provide the flag belts. Jerseys are provided by Augusta Football. Mouthguards must be purchased individually. Football cleats are recommended, but not required. Practices will be held during the week with times determined at a later date.
Flag Football teams are affiliated with the Augusta Football Program so coaches and athletes will be held to the same expectations and guidelines set forth by the program. The Augusta Football Program holds themselves to high standards and strives to set a strong example of good character and respect for themselves and our community. Students, parents, and coaches involved in the Augusta Youth Football Association will be held to these same standards.
The program will have two teams per level consisting of 10 student-athletes. This is not expected to be a place where winning is the ultimate goal. Players will be coached to learn how to play and enjoy football and what it means to be part of a team. Our intentions are for teams to be organized as evenly as possible which will allow students the opportunity to play all positions at some point in the season. Again, this Association is about the development of student-athletes and the Augusta Football Program. Negative attitudes, unsportsmanlike conduct, and poor representation of the community and the Augusta Football Program will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the league.
