"The purpose of life is to live it, to taste it, to experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience." -Eleanor Roosevelt
Being in the outdoors can often teach lessons that can't be learned in a traditional classroom. That is why throughout the year Wildlands offers different outdoor education trips. During the fall and spring, our students can be found backpacking in the Porcupine Lake Wilderness, canoeing the Namekagon River, or biking the Sparta Elroy Trail. While outdoors we follow a strict Leave No Trace Principle reminding us to be courteous at all times and to preserve wild, public spaces. We also offer a summer adventure program to each grade-level in the high school and venture to mountains, rivers, and lakes across the country. Enjoying the outdoors is important for student relationships and creating a family environment at Wildlands.
At Wildlands students have to the opportunity to:
- Canoe
- Backcountry Hike
- Mountain Bike
- Downhill and Cross-country Ski
- Rock Climb
