Welcome to 4K!
If your child is 4 by September 1, 2024, they are eligible to attend 4-year-old kindergarten. The Augusta School District offers two class options for 4K, an AM or PM class. 4K is held four days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; with no 4K classes on Wednesdays.
A couple of points to keep in mind when deciding if your child is ready for 4K:
- 4-Year-Old Kindergarten is not required by the state of Wisconsin and therefore your child does NOT need to attend if you do not feel they are ready developmentally for any reason by the age of 4.
- They ARE allowed to start when they are five years old. We ask that you only send your child if you feel they are ready.
- Once your child is enrolled they will not be able to repeat 4K, but instead will be moved onto Kindergarten for the next school year.
If you feel your child is ready for 4K, please fill out the 4K enrollment form. Once you have submitted this form, your child will be placed on a class list. Confirmation of your child’s class placement will be sent out by the end of the school year. Orientation information will then be sent toward the end of the summer.
Wisconsin law requires the school to verify your child's date of birth. Copying of vital records is strictly prohibited, so we ask that you please present a certified copy of your child's birth certificate to the Elementary School Office during school hours.
