I am Reed Pecha and I am the principal of Augusta Middle and High School and Wildlands Charter School.  I became principal in the summer of 2019 and have enjoyed my time here every day since.  Before becoming principal, I was the Dean of Students at South Middle School in Eau Claire for three years, and served as Athletic Director for nine years. 
I began my teaching career as a substitute teacher in Eau Claire and eventually landed a full time teaching job at South where I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade social studies for ten years.  I also taught high school summer school for eight years and middle school summer school for two years. 
I started my path towards teaching after I graduated high school and attended UW-Eau Claire where I started coaching high school football, hockey, and baseball for eight years.  It was during this time when I realized that I enjoyed working with youth and helping them to become the best version of themselves and responsible citizens, and so began my work toward a degree in education.  
I am a proud father of two children, Reylen and Olivia, and am happily married to my wife Claudia.  I enjoy spending time with my family, being in the great outdoors hunting and fishing, and anything sports.  I am a Wisconsinite through and through and love the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, and Bucks. 
I feel very privileged and honored to be the principal here.  We have an outstanding staff and student body.  The culture in our building is very much a collaborative one, in that we are in this together for all of our students.
