I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from UW-Madison in August of 1992, and a state of Wisconsin 6-12 teaching license from UW-Green bay in January of 1996.

My first professional job in the field of education was as a Special Ed. teacher's aide at De Pere Middle School for the 1996-97 school year. I then worked at Crivitz High School from 1998-2000. In 2001 I attended graduate school at Winona State University for a month until my girlfriend's life threatening accident. I spent the first half of 2001 assisting with my girlfriend's recovery from a traumatic brain injury and worked the second half as a long term substitute for La Crosse Central. I spent 2002-2005 at Regis High School in Eau Claire, and I am currently celebrating my 14 year at Augusta High School.

I am originally from Milwaukee but spent most of my childhood growing up in De Pere, WI. My girlfriend, Christine, lives in La Crosse. I am an avid bibliophile (book collector) and wood worker (making furniture is my passion). I enjoy fishing, cooking, gardening, reading, and writing poetry.
