Rules for participation in any Augusta pool program are the same for everyone without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex or handicap.
- Anyone using the pool must take a shower before entering the water.
- Anyone having an infectious or communicable disease is prohibited from using the pool.
- Spitting, spouting water, blowing the nose or discharging body wastes in the pool is strictly prohibited.
- Bathers who are not toilet trained shall wear swim diapers or plastic pants. Diaper changing on the pool deck is prohibited. Changing stations are located in the locker rooms.
- Swimmers must pass a skills test to be in the deep end.
- All persons must remove shoes before entering the pool area.
- No food or beverages allowed in pool area. Chewing gum is not allowed.
- All children under age 5 must have an adult (over 18) in the water with them at all times. Lifeguards on duty are responsible for the safety of all patrons. Those under age 5 need the special attention of an additional adult.
- The only floatation devices approved for preschoolers are water wings and Coast Guard approved life jackets. Persons using these floatation devices must stay in the shallow end and be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Running, rough play and excessive noise is forbidden in the pool area and shower rooms.
- No diving is allowed along the edge of the pool except during swim instruction. Special rules for the diving board are posted.
- Jumping should be from the pool gutter area only, no running and jumping or backward jumps are allowed.
- Hanging on the safety line is prohibited.
- The management is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
- Profanity, improper behavior and intoxication are not allowed.
- All reasonable requests made of patrons by the swimming pool director or lifeguard staff must be obeyed immediately.
- Parents are not allowed in the pool area during summer lessons except for the first and last day of class.
- The management reserves the right to refuse admittance to or eject from the premises, any persons failing to comply with any of the above health and safety regulations.
- The pool is closed during school district closures due to weather or holidays unless deemed necessary by the swimming pool director.
- The pool may be closed without advanced notice due to chemical and maintenance situations.
- Glass and shatterable items are prohibited in the pool area
